“Very little grows on jagged rock. Be grounded. Be crumbled so wildflowers will come up where you are. You’ve been stony for too many years. Try something different. Surrender.”

About Shauna

Shauna Grace Eriksen is a Registered Psychologist working and living in Nelson, B.C. Shauna has significant experience working with complex trauma, family violence, sexual abuse, addiction, mental health issues and relationship struggles. Her approach to therapy has been greatly influenced by working with Indigenous Communities for many years. Shauna is guided by the medicine wheel, an Indigenous teaching tool, that sees the connections between all things and recognizes the importance of healing the mind, body, spirit and heart. Therefore, Shauna works holistically, and includes all aspects of the medicine wheel when creating a treatment plan. She believes that kindness and respect are necessary to create the conditions for healing.

Shauna also recognizes the value and importance of evidence-based practices, including effective and responsive treatment intervention according to the unique needs of each individual client. She lives in the forest and is very passionate about getting outside, whether walking, skiing, paddling, gardening, or sitting by a fire. She loves nature and believes that reconnecting to the Earth has the capacity to bring healing to us all.
